A LIFETIME JOY✨

Enchanting wedding in Edinburgh City Chambers followed Prestonfield House in Edinburgh

I’ve met Agi and Grant in my studio for a chat, and we clicked right away 🥰 That's why I make it a point to meet my couples in person. Sure, Zoom calls are fine, but there's something special about feeling the energy of the people you're working with. And if you know me, you know I'm all about the hugs (don't worry, I always ask if folks are huggers first, because not everyone is, right? 😄).

Agi and Grant got engaged in April 2023 and their wedding happened in September. Quite impressive, right? Kudos to Agi for pulling everything together so beautifully! ✨

Ladies, let's be real here... It's often you who spearhead the planning. Maybe you secretly wish for more help from your partner, but then again, can you trust him to pick out flowers, favours, and wedding decor? You know what I mean, right? 👀😁

I'm always thrilled when the bride finally gets to see all those carefully planned details come together on the big day, creating her dream vision 🥰

Now, let me paint a picture of Agi and Grant's lovely day 🌸

My journey began at the iconic Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, where Agi and her maid of honour, Kasia, were getting ready. Harriet worked her magic with makeup, while Steph created stunning hairstyles.

At 2 pm, Agi's family paid a heartfelt visit to her room. Emotions ran high as her parents, who had travelled all the way from Poland, shared a tender moment. Eighteen family members from Poland gathered in Scotland to celebrate Agi and Grant's love. 🌸

A black cab took us  from the Balmoral to the Edinburgh City Chambers, where the lovely Pamela conducted the ceremony. The ceremony was in English and gracefully translated into Polish by Kasia, the maid of honour, who, by the way, looked absolutely incredible and spoke like she was announcing the Oscars 🥰

This was my first time capturing a wedding in the European room at Edinburgh City Chambers, and let me tell you, the vibes were off the charts! ✨😍 Just take a look at the photos!

After the ceremony, a vibrant red bus (The Original Red Bus)  awaited us, ready to take us to Prestonfield House. What a cool bus! All decked out inside, with a charming driver and a chauffeur pouring champagne for the new Mr. and Mrs. O'Connell and their guests. I snapped some photos during that bumpy ride as well.

Once we arrived at the hotel, we took advantage of the beautiful golden light (a photographer's dream).

As the evening rolled on, guests mingled and shared beautiful moments. It was heartwarming to see Grant bonding with Agi's parents, even though they didn't speak much English.

Agi's dad gave a heartfelt speech, and Kasia kindly translated it into English, ensuring that Grant and his family could fully appreciate the words.

This wedding was a bit unique, with 18 Polish guests and only 3 Scottish ones. It was a nice  reversal of the usual scenario where we often see just a few Polish guests at Scottish weddings.

After the speeches, it was time for me to gol, as my services were booked only until that point. I took the opportunity to catch up with my brother at the hotel afterward – a little family time ❤️

Before I wrap up this post, let me share a bit of a heart-pounding moment with you which I handled pretty well I must say.

With lots happening,  I realised that I had left my camera bag behind when we were en route to Prestonfield House after the ceremony! Can you believe it? It happens, right?

Now, normally, I'd be in full-blown panic mode, but this time, I was surprisingly calm. I mean, sure, my camera bag was missing, along with about £700 worth of equipment, but I was safe, healthy, and no one was hurt. I didn’t want to put my emotions into Agi and Grant’s day and let the emotions affect my mood and therefore my work.

Grant was so kind and sweet and he called the hotel for me to find out if my camera bag was in the taxi they've booked for us. Nope. it wasn't there.

When I got home, Agi messaged me at 2 am, saying that my camera bag was in her bridal room. I must have played a trick on my own brain, as I vividly remember putting it on my back! 🙈

I smiled and thanked the Universe for the lesson – a reminder to be more mindful of where I put my stuff 😉

Anyway! That was a little backstory, but please let's not forget why we're here! Let's see the amazing photos of Agi, Grant and their loved ones 😍

Till the next time, friends!😍

Sending love and good vibes your way,
